Thanked: 4249Eugene Berninghause was born in Germany in 1845,the family moved to New York in 1849. The family enetually moved to Ohio where they ran a perfume shop. By 1875 Eugene open his own business in Cincinatti Ohio, The Eugene Berninghause co, was the first manufacturer of barbers chair in the United States.
Like your razor his early barbers chairs used the trademark "hercules"
The company was not only selling barbers chair but also all the barbers supply, and offered a catalog. That said they were also an import/export of goods, most razors that ive seen were made in germany for them, like many us barbers supply co of that time had German manufacturers made razors for them.
Eugene Berninghause passed away in 1924 but his business lived untill 1938. That said more then likely a high quality Solingen maker made your razor, Enjoy!
