Thread: Uncle Bill scores!

I know it is a strange title, but here is the story. About a week ago I asked an uncle, who goes to alot of auctions, if he ever sees razors. He says yes, but he wouldnt know what to pay. So I describe what to look for, and tell him I'd go 10 on anything that was not cracked or worn out, or too pitted.
A week later he calls and says he picked up 2 for 15.
Here are the boxes.

Well the razors dont match the boxes, but oh well.
They rarely do.

The straight point is a Wm. Elliott 170, Elliotts Special
The round point is a Wester Bros. Anchor Brand Manganese steel.
A small amount of rust on the Elliott, but the Wester is near perfect, just oxidized.

Even the scales are in great shape. 2 scratches on the Wester...

I might never buy from eBay again!

I need an uncle like that.. I can't find anything near me..and I hate ebay..my last ebay razor needed a lil scale work and some polishing and a touch up .. but it turned out to b a great razor for 20 bucks its a green lizard.. it wasnt closing on center so.i doubled up the inside bearing washer on one side now it closes nicely..

The Wester Bros is interesting in that I've only seen the Manganese in square point and maybe one marked Manganese steel wedge, IIRC. Anyway, sweet deal for the $.

The only thing I ever find are straights that look like a pumpkin smile. Those are great!
