Another Mad Max
Hi Guys,
Saturday this beauty came in the mail, from Las Vegas, a Wade & Butcher, For Barbers Use 15/16 with blond horn scales and faux ivory wedge.
Since long I was looking for a W&B like this, with an extra hollow ground and square point. When Maximilian offered it on his web shop, in this state, I didn’t hesitate long and bought it. This one was from Max’s own personal collection and had been well taken care of all his years, and boy it shows! The blade is restored to the point where the patina still shows, but only when you look very closely. However that underlines its 130+ years age and beauty. The recently added translucent blond horn scales are wonderful in sight and touch, and balance the mass of this heavyweight very nicely. As with all stuff great from Max, this too is a beautiful piece of art. I hope the photos do this one justice.
I will take this W&B FBU 15/16 for a spin most likely tonight. I can’t wait!
The last picture displays the tangs of all razors I got through Max (from left to right in size order):
- F.W. Engels Special 6/8;
- Wade & Butcher 6/8;
- Joseph Rodgers & Sons 6/8;
- Wade & Butcher 7/8;
- this latest Wade & Butcher 15/16;
- Filarmonica #14;
- Max Sprecher Custom 8/8.
If I may say so myself: a nice seven-day set .
Thanks,
Paul

That W&B is just plain beautiful as is the rest of your Max collection. I do not think it is possible to be unhappy with anything that comes come from Max. : )

The W&B is exquisite.
Those blond horn scales area a natural match for the FBU. Max did a great job (as usual). And you did a great job by jumping all over it when it was offered up.
Congrats and enjoy!
