1700s Gronstrand pair in ivory
Fresh in from across the Atlantic. I rarely see stubtails in pairs, or in ivory. I'm sure they were reground, but long ago. It's a shame about the rust, but that can be lightly cleaned away. I'm not sure if the case is original. I haven't had time to do any research yet, but figured posting pictures would be pertinent.

Stunning...wow...to hold a piece of history like that in your hands.
To imagine all the faces and all the places and lifetimes it's witnessed..sheesh...sounds like they could of been around during the French Revolution!!
Simply awe inspiring...Last edited by Phrank; 10-29-2013 at 12:06 AM.

Thanked: 0That is too cool! How do you date those? Where did you find them? They must have been extremely well cared for. I wonder what the carbon content is.

what makes you think they were reground? Look pretty original to me for stub tails
