Robeson Shure Edge Blue Jay
Arrived today. Blade in the tumbler and trying to figure out what to do with the scales. Not original and the blade just hits the wedge. I could trim the wedge and continue on or else make some new scales. What does the gang have to say?

Thanked: 1184Those scales look very fancy. Surprised the scale collectors let you have them. Try to trim the wedge without touching those scales. That's my vote and it's all that counts as far as I am concerned :<0)
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

Clean them with toothpaste and use a fine saw blade to trim the wedge back. That is a common problem with shrinking older scales.
Carry onward!
( Strange, that is the second pair of that design I saw today and a half a world apart!)
