Gillette 1948-1950 gold Aristocrat safety razor w/case, blade box & Thin Blade
No more cartridges, when I need to use something other than my straight, I will now have a Gillette 1948-1950 gold Aristocrat safety razor w/case, blade box & Thin Blade.
E-Bay listing say's the Thin Blade is unopened and unused...so going to head to the local Men's Essentials and pick up some DE blades.

Phrank,
The 1948 Aristocrat is my favorite of all the Gillette razors. I consider it the aristocrat of the Gillette razors, indeed. I have two and am saving them for my grandsons. You made a good choice with this razor. It is worthy of a gentleman.

I have exactly the same era model and agree that they are very enjoyable shavers. The photos don't show the condition so if there's any plating loss you might want to look at re-plating - in very good condition, these can go for $200.

The seller said there was a bit of plating loss, really just went on-line trying to find a nice DE that wasn't too expensive as I use straights, got it for $50. Glad to find out it's a nice one! Haven't used one for 30-35 years!
Picked up one 10 pack of Lord DE blades for approx $5...wow!
Here's the listing if it still works:
