Thanked: 0Thx rmagnus ~ I am going to leave the patina as you suggested. I like the vintage look myself. There is a tiny showing of rust in a couple of places which i will surely remove before it does any damage. As I have never owned or used a straight razor before in all my years I am looking forward to getting the blades cleaned up and sharpened up and giving them each a try! I will of course have a stypic stick and bandages at the ready LOL. I am going to have to learn how to strop the blades correctly and also shaving technique ~ but between You Tube demos and my Brothers Barbering books I'm sure that can be accomplished. I will report back when I experience my first shave LOL. CurtH

Condolences about your brother.
I'd do the usual "it's all junk, send it to me for 'disposal'" humor, but I don't feel that's right here. Those are lovely blades and a nice strop; he's left you some nice treasures there.
