Default Wade and Butcher 9/8 Hollow Ground w/ Blonde Horn

Picked this up the other day from, thegentlemansden, it is a fairly interesting razor and a real gem for my collection!

It is a 9/8 Wade and Butcher Hollow Ground razor. There are no etchings on the blade, and it was made with a thumb notch on the tang. It's in it's original state, aside from being cleaned up and polished. The blade also has a slight smile to it, which provides an awesome shave.

This blade was probably custom ordered from W&B to the customers specifications, and usually in this case, the customers name might have been stamped on the tang. There is no name stamp on the blade. So either the owner wanted it that way, or it was never picked up. It's true origins aren't known for certain.

When it was purchased, the original scales were in terrible shape, they literally crumbled, so I decided to have the scales replaced with blonde horn, and the shape of the scales is something I prefer for my grip.

Had my first shave with it this morning and it was superb.

Phrank, you bring out the child in me and it makes me say, "I want that Daddy! Buy that for me!!." But then I look in the mirror and see that I really should say, "Damn, Phrank, you find darn good looking razors. You bring out the avarice in me. My therapist is going to make extra on me this week."

Admiring the razor. What a great find. Hopefully one of these will drop in my lap sometime.

Here's my Vintage Straight Razor Wade & Butcher 9/8. Celebrated Barbers Use, Hollow Ground, took me a year to find this one, then the one above popped up:

This one is my favorite, it's a hefty chunk of Sheffield steel:

Lets add greed now to the effect your razors have on me. If I were younger, taller, bigger, stronger and all around badass I'd suggest arm wrestling for it. But being the aged, but not yet gnarled one step above a troll, the best I can do is try casting a spell that will force you to relinquish it to me at the moment I say to your face, "I want that".

I will, hence forth and to wit, refrain from suggesting bodily harm on such a fine, upstanding citizen to be found on any continent and pray daily for his well being and continued success is sourcing such fine examples of razor implements and dare not dream of such a day that I would become caretaker of said objects.
