Default What is it? came with the razor

I'm trying to figure out what this item is. It was inside the razor box and appears to be a small book of parchment like papers, similar to wax paper but not waxy,

I assume its advertising for the Sharp Shop in Mo, There are 12 single leaves of paper Name: 001.jpg

Is this some type of dessicant?

The razor is a Clauss made in Ohio.

    Any idea?

    Thanks

Probably for wiping the blade dry after shaving, just my guess

It looks similar to the paper razors came wrapped in. Maybe it was used to wrap and protect the blade.

Maybe they are just rolling papers and not razor related at all.

I don't think they would be for wiping the blade, they seem kinda small and I'm sure most either rinsed or wiped on a towel.
It does look like the paper I have seen some wrapped in, this paper is very similar to bakers parchment paper other than the color being tan. Baking paper is usually white,

If they were rolling papers, they probably have a glue edge, but they don't, But maybe some old Jazz musician once owned this razor,

I'm really curious as to what this is. If it was just an ad, why not just include a card, but this has these leaves of paper stitched inside into a small booklet.

A couple of additional pics, and a Canadian quarter for size

I agree that they are meant to wipe lather off the razor while shaving. I have seen similar papers in barber videos, notably the Maestro Livi video and in a video of a Parisian barber shop. In the Livi video the barber uses a small piece of paper. There is a device called the "Antiseptic" Razor Wiper in the Paris video where the paper is on a roll, similar to a paper towel roll.

Interestingly, there is a patent for an antiseptic razor wiper made of rubber where the razor is meant to be wiped over a molded ridge. The patent applicant states that one of the advantages of his rubber razor wiper is that it does away with untidy and inconvenient scraps of paper commonly used in barber shops.

Perhaps at one time they were somehow antiseptic,

I wonder if they might be something you would tear off a little bit and stick it to a nick that might be bleeding,

My interpretation is that the paper is antiseptic because it is unused and not repurposed paper like squares cut from news papers. The wax-like coating would inhibit that absorption of blood from a cut so I doubt it would be good for a bleeding cut.

There is no wax coating or any coating on the paper at all. Its like baking parchment paper. It may have been antiseptic though.

The length of the paper seems to be the same length as the blade, so perhaps it has, or had some anti rust properties to it and if you tear off a sheet and fold it over the blade and put it away maybe it helped preserve it.

    Just another theory....
