Default W. Greaves & Sons stub tail

So after losing the auction for a Joseph Rodgers that looked to be from around the 1830's, I have been determined recently to get a seriously older razor in a good condition, and I think I found it. I won this W. Greaves and Sons that the seller estimates to be from between 1817 (because the company became "& Sons" starting that year) and because it isn't stamped "sheafworks", before 1823 (when the new factory was built). Does anyone see any reason why I should doubt the validity of this estimate?

    Thanks!
See my Greaves bio for more all around info on Greaves, including more accurate dates for the '& sons' stamp.

Based on the scales, blade shape, and grind, I'd guess it's from the early 1820's, but it could be earlier.

That's most likely to be a fine, fine razor to shave with.

I guess I can't get them all - at least not quite yet. Very very nice Greaves! I'd think the date estimates given are in the correct range. As said above, likely from the earlier years to my eye.
