    Default Catch-Up Sharing my Picks...

So, I just realized that I am quite behind sharing my acquisitions. I have two off at Glen's so those will have to wait and maybe he'll share pics when he's done. I also have one more duck that's somewhere in the mail between me and Canada.

I was going to do this in order but, it's just easier to group them this way... Sorry in advance for the quality of the pics. I took them with my phone...

The Goldedge and Wonderedge are in really great shape, the Wonderedge does need a pivot pin. The Satinedge at the bottom is one that I posted in another thread that will need new scales due to some pretty nasty looking heat damage.

These two are ones that I found and grabbed up for good prices the first of the week. They are both in pretty good shape I think.

These two are ones that I got today. I frequent this specific antique shop and know the owners pretty well. The guy has had a rough time with broken blades and rust and has never been to sell any of the razors he has. He almost gave me these just because I was interested. The rest all had chunks out of the blade and were in horrid condition.

There is a bit more rust on this one and the scales are pretty ugly so I probably will have some natural scales fashioned for this one. I really like the lighter horn so that's a distinct possibility.

I also found a humidor lined with white porcelain to use as a razor case. I purchased some balsa and cut and fashioned divisions inside for different sizes of razor. I'm planning on darkening the stain and putting about 5 or 6 coats of polyurethane or lacker on it. It also has a silver placard for the top that I can have my initials engraved on. Oh, and I will be putting a small mesh bag of rice in with the razors to help with the humidity. I am considering the razor socks though...

Maybe going back to work next week after my two week holiday will help dampen my RAD a little .

    Or... maybe not .

Very nice finds! I really like the big Greaves and the porcelain lined humidor! Those should serve you well!

Those are some nice Ducks -- especially the Goldedge. Eyeing the photo it looks like it might be 7/8 or larger? You don't see a lot of those.

Thanks guys. Bordee, the Goldedge is right at 6/8 from the top of the spine. It does make that Satinedge look small though.

Thanks for sharing them,,,,I'd be on that Greaves ASAP, if nothing else for the moment, a light hand cleaning & some lubricant. To see that rust on a good blade , is heart wrenching,,,

Nice finds. In an antique store around here you would think a straight is made of solid gold. They want top dollar for what we post as junk in e-Bay 101 :<0)
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

I've experienced that too 10pups. I have passed on more than I've gotten by far.

Hirlau, I got instructions from Glen and I've stabilized the patient for transport to the ER. ;-) Dr. Sixgun's going to patch her up real good!
