    I wonder if the top pins are from the base of cartridge shells. The wedge could very well be original to the blade. It reminds of an oldie I had once, the same only hickory. Mine was pinned with nails! I did drill out the nails and add some old steel collars and pinned with bronze, however. Probably should not have, in retrospect!
    It now resides with a good friend!

    That is a BEAUTY also!

    I drilled out the pin for the blade. I would guess it was pinned with a nail also.
    I ended up pinning collaring and triple stacking the washers so it would stay..
    Probably shouldn't have un pinned it but oh well...I was going to make new scales for it, but as I said...It grew on me.
