So I decided to start off the new year with a big change so I went in for my first tattoo today, mega props to Bryan J turnbull at government street tattooing in Victoria B.C. He drew up the design and put the gun to me. I love this and I think it turned out awesome, this was done about 6 hours ago so forgive the freshness of the photo. I'll post another when it's fully healed.

Nice. Make sure you clean it frequently and use paper towels to pat it dry. Stay away from A&D Ointment or anything else with petroleum products in it. If you can
    find some, use Tattoo Goo.

And when the itching starts, and it will, resist the urge to scratch it or peel the scabbing away.

Thanks man, I got a buddy who just finished a full sleeve so he's been giving me the proper run down of how to care for it.

I have a nearly complete body suit and have always used A&D ointment. I guess that I have 500 to 600 hours of tattooing on me. I have not found anything that works better. A very small amount goes a long way, but it has always worked for me.

Wow! Great tat! Very creative and looks awesome. Like the watch cover is jumping off your arm. Very cool.
What a curse be a dull razor; what a prideful comfort a sharp one

Some artists say not to use petroleum base things because most people put them on too thick. That clogs your pores and slows the healing. The smallest amount of a&d will work great, just be very sparing.

    Nice!

Is there any significance in the time chosen?

I've used A&D ointment in the past. Not saying it will destroy the tattoo, but there are much better alternatives out there. Since finding Tattoo Goo
several years ago, that's all I use.

If you do use A&D ointment, the advice given to use it sparingly is very good.

What does the symbology mean? A straight razor and an old pocket watch were well known everyday items used by our forefathers. Since you're a straight shaver, I assume some kind of razor tat makes sense but I would expect some motif showing a razor with a hideous grin with blood dripping off a wicked sharp blade but a big clock that is the main theme? I don't get it? Well, you do have another arm.
