Thanked: 169Fairly huge Trabani blade
Anyone own one of these? I bought this today for not an inconsiderate sum. It is by a considerable margin the biggest blade that I have ever encountered that does not have anything besides american branding. Trapani's best A1 on tang, S. Trapani & Sons Brooklyn NY on reverse. Tang was originally blued and the Trapani's best a1 has remnants of red enamel in the characters which reminds me of a a c-mon blackie or something of that ilk. I think this company was a supplier, so does anyone have any idea who could have possibly churned this out because I have a hard time believing it was made here originally.

I reminds me of a few I have which were imported by PJM and branded for various suppliers. I feel German made for certain.
Neat razor!"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.

Thanked: 169What is the height of your razors? Somebody reputable made it, and I agree it is German for sure. I am guessing ERN or Dorko. The steel has that look to it that my very best blades do. The size coupled with the bluing and enamel are just really out of the norm. Know what I like the most, I am from NYC and bought it in Brooklyn. It just languished here its whole life, apparently.

Thanked: 169Those are some fantastic looking razors. The font style on the Rough and ready is extremely similar and the scale style on your tru is like the ones on mine pulled along a step further with a third pin and more ornate materials.

Thanks, Yours is as well ! Looking at the tang on your's for a bit. Reminds of Engels, ...Hmmmmm
You see, as we get a fine hardware store or drugstore, OR Barber Supply razor, we actually never know where it comes from.
Germany is a given, just have to have mind to look. We have a PJM club here, an Engels one as well!"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.

Thanked: 169It's top quality whoever made it. If the solingen straight industry was anything like the DE, there was probably a lot of crossbreeding. There were probably 50 different slant razors made in solingen with the same head but different, ornate handles for instance.
