I wanted to bring to the attention of the finest experts on this forum a new type of steel with whom he started producing razors the Italian master .
There are many types of steel with which it manufactures its jewelery, either carbon or stainless or damascus. In particular it is very well known that stainless RWL34 . This prototype is the first model built with a new stainless steel that you do not know the name . I could use it alternately with the other , and I noticed that it is very sweet and extremely effective on the skin with the hairs of the beard. I was very impressed and I think soon I'm gonna ' make me realize another . The Master told me that the second prototype developed in conjunction with this is now making the rounds of Spain , tried by fans of that Country. Usually I make three passes with the razor and my skin is particularly delicate . After making three passes with this steel , I could start over without my skin suffers . My beard has no way out already tough ' after the first pass . In my opinion this is perhaps the most steel ' performance devised by the ingenious artist of Perugia. Would definitely recommend it to lovers of this type of razor.

I certainly confirm all the good impressions you expressed about the new Mastro Livi stainless steel. I was the very first one to test his new "inox steel" - besides Mastro Livi himself, of course - and the razor you are talking about and now on tour in Spain, is exactly the one I tested. You can find more information about that experimental razor here: http://straightrazorpalace.com/razor...ml#post1264340
Here and in the following posts I wrote my opinions about this razor and how it performed during my two weeks period of tests.
I was very impressed by this experimental razor, very effective and velvety, in two words, wonderful and amazing. I am sure it will certainly become a very popular steel for Mastro Livi razors and, of course, I will certainly order one soon. Having been the very first one to test a straight razor made with this experimental stainless steel was a high honor and privilege for me. I am sure you too Stefano feel that way for being the very first one to own the first commercial Mastro Livi straight razor made with this stainless steel. Enjoy it!

So you see that I'm right when I say that you are a great expert on razors! if Livi master has entrusted the task of testing her new steel mean that he considers you an expert. And he's right. I am already 'very pleased and honored to have the prototype in my drawer. I think that soon many other friends will have the pleasure to shave with this sweet steel.

I have to say I am a bit disappointed with the look of the scales. Near the pivot, one side is nearly twice as thick as the other.
For the price of that razor, I'd expect more care to have gone in the scales and not just the blade.

perhaps the quality 'of the photo does not do the best characteristics of the handle. Please keep in mind, however, that it is always a handmade product made entirely by hand, and if it were perfect would lose all its charm. the machine is always perfect, the man ever!

I know that handmade always is imperfect. If I make a blade or scales, it is never perfect. But I try to get as close as I can.

Those legs are really more different than what you'd expect from professional handwork.
The red lines are the same width. The green is the difference. That is well into 50% that one is thicker than the other.
For the typical price of a Livi, I'd expect a bit more attention to detail.

Since 'is a prototype and it was important to develop the quality' of new steel is normal that the handle is probably a back seat. In fact, even the red burl is new and I have paid for the prototype. Even cars of formula 1 have the so-called "mule" which is never as fast as the first guide. I think it's normal.
