Van Der Hagen In Applewood Bowl.
Not sure where this one should have gone, but I wanted to show the apple wood bowl & express my like for Van Der Hagen scented luxury soap.
The bowl was made by Eric (HNSB) out of apple wood; beautiful & solid it is. I wanted to add a puck to it, but could not wait until next month to buy a few soaps that I've been wanting. So I spotted this Van Der Hagen Luxury soap in Wal Mart last week. In the years past, all they had was the plain Van Der Hagen in the light green box & frankly I don't care for it at all. So I put this luxury puck in & was greatly surprised at the quality of the lather it produced. A nice thick cushion with pleasantnt scent, at $3.00 & change. It will not replace my Cella, but a very good cheap soap.
Of course, the apple wood bowl needed an Elk Antler badger brush (GemStar Customs) to go with it,,,
Thank you for looking,,,

Very nice, John. The bowl just has a look of elegance and simplicity. I really like the grain and color that came out of Duluth.
Thanks for the heads up on the VDH Luxury soap. I will visit the store tomorrow. BTW, I use the regular VDH to cleanse and soften my beard before applying a better soap. Works for me.

The bowl is reall nice, not as heavy as it looks & holds in the palm well.
Yeah,, I'm no fan of the regular VDH, but this luxury version was a pleasant surprise.

I just saw that soap at WalMart and almost grabbed it. Thanks for the heads up, now I will surely try it out. I didnt like the regular VDH soap either, but the glycerin one was alright. That bowl is very nice, thanks for sharing the pics.

John
I keep going back to the second pic.
It reminds me of a cooked apple dish where you layer thinly sliced apples and add butter, cinnamon and brown sugar.
HNSB got the color perfectly.

What a super looking bowl and a one off to boot along with a one off custom brush by Glen. Thanks for the pictures John. Enjoy.
