My first razors!
I got my first razors in the mail this week, now to get them professionally honed and to start shaving. First one is an hm Christensen, second on is hasch and fitzau, I think I did pretty well for a first purchase.

Thanked: 4828The one with the black scales is in ok condition but the other one is a little done. It has a lot of hone wear and the edge is way off. That is a pretty bad frown and the blade is already way past the stabilizer. There is hope for the black one. As long as it doesn't have deep pitting near the edge the geometry looks good enough to have someone experienced give it a close squint and hone it up.

Congrats!
The Hasch and Fitzau looks to be possible to get honed, but the Christensen is a lost case. Keep it as a letter opener and a reminder of how a razor should not lookNeed help or tutoring? Check out the .

I'd save the money and only send out the one with black scales. With the money saved, you'll be able to get a pretty decent razor off ebay or at an antique store.

I find this info invaluable when looking at razor...particularly, if I'm searching for defects. Also, last in that link is "Questions to ask a seller".
Welcome, and congrats. You've got a nice razor there!!

Thanks guys, you live and learn. I sent them off to someone to get looked at and honed if possible.
