Thanked: 0Pradier Razor, Dreadnought point
I picked this guy up from ebay a couple weeks ago and finally got around to cleaning it up a little bit. It appears to say Eradied No22 Rue Bourc l'abbe a Paris. Now I don't speak french but did search quite a bit on the forum and Google and didn't find much other than the string of words possibly being an address. I do enjoy the unique shape of the toe and the stubby tail. Toe is 7/8" and heel 6/8" or so, and near wedge or quarter hollow. Just thought I would share and see if any of the French razor experts could chime in.
Edit: Pradier is the manufacturer, thanks to a later post for the information!Last edited by Keestan; 02-27-2014 at 03:19 AM.

Thanked: 4827what an unusual tip. A rather unique and cool old razor.
It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!

It's Pradier. They were an important company in the history of French cutlery.
With luck, Martin or Charlie will see this thread and be able to tell you more about them.
That blade shape is definitely uncommon. I have one Sheffield blade like that, and have seen one other (I've got a Joseph Smith with that shape and I've seen a Colley).-Zak Jarvis. Writer. Artist. Bon vivant.
