All I am saying is, if someone has Mr. Glesser's permission to use the Spyder hole, they would be very wise to state so very clearly and be prepared to back it up.
The razor is really nice. If the OP never mentioned the Spyderco trademark hole nobody would say anything, its a round hole on a razor! seen it many times. And persuing somebody for trademark infringment is quite and ordeel and very costly to the trademark owner.

He is licensed to use it. It is all good.

I disagree that no one would say anything, and I also disagree with any notion (if anyone has one) that use of a trademark would not be pursued, or any notion that it would be ok based on the idea that no one would pursue it. I'm not suggesting that you or anyone else has that notion here, but the rampant intellectual design theft I see ALL THE TIME suggests that it exists elsewhere and it bothers me deeply.

    Sorry if I angered anyone.

I don't know much about knives, but I remember reading once that spyderco actively and aggressively protects their trademark spyderhole. That's the reason that other maufacturers use either a differently shaped hole, or a stud. No round holes. Part of trademark law is that the owner has to actively defend his claim against each and every infringement they know of, or their claim will become null and void. There is no question that Spyderco would sue if they became aware. They cannot 'not' sue. Because if they learn that a small knifemaker uses the spyderhole without a license and let it slide, they lose their trademark protection.

In any case, as we discussed in an earlier thread, intellectual design theft is not cool. Even in our little world, it is generally not done to make exact copies of someone elses work if said work can be argued to be unique. Case in point are the Charlie Lewis knockoffs that have been turning up lately.

Btw, I do like the look of this blade. I think the tail could be a bit different, but if spyderco would design a razor, this is what it would look like imo.
