ERN local trading post find.
Picked up this ERN today. Paid more than I wanted but these folks have practically given me some of my best razors. So I didn't mind (plus they're bringing me private collection to sift through)
Interesting engraving someone did on the scale. Any ideas on what it is? Any idea on a time period it was made in?

That engraving is not uncommen. Sharptonn had a whole thread going on that IIRC........ I dd remember correctly, here is the old thread with a discussion on the markings. Not sure of the age. Maybe pre WWII, maybe post war, 1950s or so. Good razors Ern. I've got one they made for Sears that has Craftsman etched on the belly of the blade and maybe on the scales ....... can't recall.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Thanked: 433I've had #'s like that on mine as well, after reading that other thread I would guess it was some sort of Barber inventory # or possibly a customer that really favored a certain razor.
I've had what appears to be dates and names on mine as well, it's one of the cool things on vintage razors!Last edited by rodb; 03-09-2014 at 02:43 AM.
