My Ator came today, and I'm very, very happy with the way it looks in hand. A tiny bit of surface rust, and that's it. I don't think I even need to take the pivot apart, which is amazing. A little polish on some floss around the pivot, on the blade and also the pins...... Plastic polish on the scales and Bobs your uncle!
BTW, the James Dunbar Moss Side is most definitely hand painted :) Love it!
Anyone know what all the letters and numbers on the backside tang are all about???

My lathe showed up yesterday. I still need to assemble my stand, which arrived today. I'm already slightly familiar with it because the local woodcraft held a "turn for troops" event and this lathe was the same one I used. It's the jet 1221vs, and it rocks!

Nice Lathe Kyle, now we expect big things!!!
That electronic speed dial sure will be handy. Wish I had that on mine.
It's a beaut, Andrew! MUCH more rare than a W&B barber's use!:D
You did well!
Perhaps some sort of patent numbers?
FME, if it is loose in the scales, the top pin will have to be drilled and removed....Repinned.
I would hesitate to attempt tapping on that pivot pin....:nono:
Been a LOT of those jokers broken. You know the drill! :D
Which drill? My Hilti, Makita, Hitachi, Black and Decker, Dewalt?? :rofl2:
I like my pivots fairly snug, so I imagine I'll do the drill.
