Roy, I have one too! Beautiful tool for cutting wire. My blades are marked "For Music Wire". I think piano tuners used these for cutting strings.
It should work great for cutting brass rod, funny I didn't put 2 and 2 together till I saw yours. It needs cleaning up on the buffing wheels.

My jaws also say For Music Wire. :tu
When I was starting to purchase my hand tools my day told me that good tools last, I've always remembered that.
I did wash my flush cutter out with some aerosol brake cleaner then ran them under the 600 greaseless, then some black Emory and then some CrOx and then sprayed well with WD40 and they work so smoothly.
Got me some snake bit soap and aftershave coming this Friday that I am looking forward to. Might post something under soaps and creams if they pan out.
A Tony Miller Bridal strop 2.5 inch wide and a Drygulch American Bridal strop 3 inch wide, oh and some 2.5 inch wide vintage linen firehose, I already have a SRP Latigo and a vintage horse shell strops, so these should be me done on strops, I do like a heavier draw on my strops, so I may still use the Latigo more often, we will see. (Both posted together from USA to UK last week so should be soon I hope)
The miller strop was a gift from a friend so I can't complain, but even though I am not a massive fan of a quick draw, I have always wanted to try a bridal strop as it's almost a benchmark in stropping and it's nice to have a variety if you are able to that is.
Thanks for letting me know what to expect, that said my horse shell strop is very fast, and I'm not getting rid of that.
