Ralf Aust solingen 5/8" from SRD
RAD, couldn't resist.
Please do post more pics. You know what we are like around here.
First, Thank You for being here. I wish I'd found this site before I went, absolutely, nuts on ebay. I have never used a straight razor. I'm fairly new to Safety Razors. I just got comfortable with my Muhle R41 and I thought, well, why not?
I wish I'd found this before I ordered everything I did. Some of it is bound to never be used (by me).
History: I was coming from shaving with basic bic razor in the shower with no shaving cream. My neck was really bad (shaving bumps). It's much better now.
I found this thread and thought it would be a good place to start since some of what I ordered may be useless and the rest may need help (honing or whatever). Please post any helpful comments.
Also, I think I'll wait awhile on trying to hone; so, if anyone knows a place to get it done in the DFW area, please let me know.
Actually had the first 2 brushes, for some little time, but figured I'd just start with them

Well, let me know what you think!
Thank YOU!
Im not into shave mugs but that one is perty.
Is that what it is? Well, good to hear that it's usable. I just read that you should start with the 5/8.
Anyway, that ones a project. If you go to the link, the other pictures show, on the other side, the scale(for one?) needs help.
Thanks for the comment! I'm hoping to learn a lot, here.
P.S. This one was too much (for now). It's not a project I'm going to start right away. I'll probably stick with the bokers and the other one that said 'nos', the Jansen, to begin with.
OK, here they are. Not quite a matched pair but pretty close. There is some damage to the wedge end of one that will require repair; some would replace the scales entirely but I've never worked with horn and prefer mild restoration/conservation to the Rick's Restoration approach - not that there's anything wrong with that for the right item.
