It's bigger than I thought it would be.

Problem is now I have to find a place for it to go and stay there. Not really one I can cart around like my railroad rail on a stand. Time to build a smithy.

Razorock Hawk V3 Standard. Giving the AC style single edge system a whirl.
Nice looking razor Mick. Let us know how it works out for you.
Will do Paul.
Oh amazon deal days…
Curse you to bits..

Dual burners in a boot box basically, but I like the footprint and the dual doors.
Only thing missing was the ridgidizer.
Was going to build a coal rig, but this was cheaper and faster to get here.
That looks like the same forge I got Mike. I have been happy with mine so far. I too had to buy refractant and rigidizer but it was not too expensive. I put the rigidizer on first . In retrospect I might do that in the reverse order.
I thought about hooking it to the natural gas but I felt like using propane (for my propane accessories) helped me keep a better handle on how much I have put into a piece.
Let us know how it works out for you.
Propane is hotter than ng so I too will be sticking with propane.
I am not using refractant, just ridgidizer and fire blocks along the floor.
This is my starter forge. If I take to metal beating we shall see if I build a bigger one later and repurpose these burners..
Did you add shut off’s so you can run single or dbl burners at a whim? I intend to.
Also have you noticed your 20 gallon tank frosting up at all?
Cheers.
I did not add shut offs. It didn't even occur to me to honestly. I guess it was just the more is better notion. I also considered this a starter and since razors were my main focus it is a good size for that. I'm certainly not making any sabres with it although you could open both doors and pound out something longer in sections you're just not heat treating anything large with it. Still considering an oven for that but right now it's baby steps. Even in the eventuality of getting a larger one it will still be useful for small projects.
Yes, I too have had my tank frost up. I actually burned spots in my grass with it a time or two.
