I love me some Flintlocks
I built this with no kit. Siler lock, Green Mountain barrel, Maple stock, L&R trigger. I bought individual parts at the Friendship, Indiana NMLRA spring shoot. The stock was just a chunk of wood. It is my .32 squirrel rifle.

Thanked: 884Very nicely done.
Rock locks are a hoot. I've owned and shot over a thousand rifles and pistols in the last 40 years. Had more fun with my flinter than any of the others. I dumped most of my accumulation of shooting irons a bit over ten years ago. Kept a few to hunt with. My .40 was one that stayed.
Siler/Douglas, curly maple.

These look awesome fellas! I have always wanted to get into black powder and old school firearms. i moved to Mass from Tx though and getting firearms here seems like a lot of work; plus swmbo doesn't like guns as a native masshole. Perhaps this next year I will dedicate the time and money for a gun on the low low. Whats that about forgiveness is easier to get than permission?

Thanked: 884Back before my eyes went South, I could put every shot into a business card at 50 yds all day long.
I won a pretty good chunk of change back in the 80's shooting offhand against the guys with their scope sighted magnums. We'd shoot off hand and it was usually five bucks a miss. Word got out after a while and the clowns quit giving me their money.Member Tonkin Gulf Yacht Club, participant SE Asia War Games 1972-1973. The oath I swore has no statute of limitation.
