Thread: My Birthday Gift

A new Max Sprecher Custom arrived at my door today.. It was everything I requested of Max and more. This razor is perfect in every way, as I knew it would be! Max is the consummate professional, and nothing gets out his door unless it is 110% right..
This example is a 7/8 Spike Point, in a hollow between 1/4 and 1/2, with an angular spine that I find very attractive. Max knows that I am a minimalist by nature .. One who adheres to the old Engineering Axiom .. "Less is More!"
The scales faux Ivory, with Torx screws both sides connected to a barrel pivot, to counteract the constant loosening of a screw one side with a nut.
I think the blood red wedge sets it off perfectly without going over the top.

So without further adieu ...

In closing, Max was my choice to build a commissioned razor, this one on O1, which I happen to hold dear to my heart on many levels. I cannot praise my friend Max highly enough .. There are no worries that I will not be satisfied, or that there will be any other troubles. Max is a gentleman of the first order, and he operates his business, and carries out his workmanship the way I expect it to be done, and more importantly, the way I would do it myself if I were in his shoes..

So, possibly my last razor, and certainly the pinnacle of my collection...

Very nice! While in the case with holders over the scales it struck me as a tuxedo. Not sure why. Very classy.

Max is such an understated artist; looking at his work always leaves me feeling both pleasure and angst, like an old man and a teenager looking at a beautiful woman.

It's after noon -- I can be as messed up as I want...
