Thread: Mappin & Webb 7 Day Set

Just back from holiday where I found this Mappin & Webb 7 day set (Wednesday is missing if anyone has one and is willing to part with it PM me!) I paid £25 for the set. Overall its its really good condition, there is a lot of active rust that I will start to take care of tomorrow (will post more pics once restoration is complete) Mondays has been re-scaled, I'm guessing by the condition of the set it was done some time ago as the blade has similar rust to the rest of the them suggesting no use for the same period of time, my guess is that this was re-scaled fairly early in it's life it certainly seems to be a quality job. The leather case is stamped as Mappin & Webb and razors all fit very well so I believe it to be the original, it is very beat up though, the strap is badly damaged. Overall I'm really pleased with the set, I have never had a M&W but from the posts on here about there they certainly seem to be decent shavers. Cant wait to get them on the hones!

Thats a great find! price was definately right, i hope they clean up good for you, certainly a high quality maker and then some, keep the thread updated with the restoration.

I agree with Martin, that was a helluva deal. Clean them up to their former glory and you'll have a great set of razors. I have a gentleman's set (four day) of M&W and they are among my very best razors.
