Newest finds. I think I have a thing for a nice set of...... scales!
First up: First set of Aluminum scales I have had the pleasure to buy. Blade is decent, scales are what snagged me.
National Barber Supply Cincinnati O., Made In Germany
4. 11. 44, Good Luck
Next: Country Club with Frosted horse and rider etch
No. 76 Country Club
Shapleigh Hardware Co., St. Lious USA
Last: Torrey with Art Deco scales and a possible blade swap
The JR Torrey Co., Worchester Ma.
Happen to have a blade with no scales that is an exact fit. In better shape with less hone wear. Thinking I might swap it out, but not sure if I want to risk f*ing up the scales.
Feels like a good haul. All are unique to some extent and could be honed as is. I will be cleaning them up a bit more, not sure how far is really needed.
Anyways, hope you enjoy my little contribution. The older I get the more I realize how little I actually know.

Im not even close to an expert but if that bare blade fits the aluminum scales I would put them together or have it done. Those are very nice! Like that torrey too!

Some very nice pieces Matt,
I have seen you around on the boards for a bit, repining is like most other things razor related time and patience is key to success.
Read up a bit a bit I fully believe it is something well within reach. Several methods have even been show cased as of late.
Pick one that you have the equipment for, again patience is key, I did several of my first ventures with hand files and cut off wheels on a Dremel.
Due diligence will reward, repining is not rocket science but does take a light hand, light taps with repetition garners the desired results.
You are not flaring the end simply slowly deforming it to create the lock.
Harder hits will only serve do deform or bend the pin below the actual working area.
Roy "Cudarunner" has done more than his fair share he is within reach of you if I am not mistaken and I am sure he would be happy to provide what assistance he can.
Again great looking finds

Relax and Enjoy!

Thanks Pat. I have unpinned and pinned a few times on some rougher looking pieces for restoration and cleanup practice. However, I have only used flush cutters so far and am looking at trying to refine my technique. I would really like to be able to save the collars. I read the thread that Mycarver started and picked up a ball head grinder bit. Going to give it a try this coming weekend.
I am hoping to get to meet Cudarunner this fall actually. I have been nothing but impressed with his work and willingness to help others. The older I get the more I realize how little I actually know.
