    Default Basement find! Pic Heavy

Working out in garage yesterday when swmbo comes out with these. She found them in boxes we are clearing out from previous owners of house. I not only was shocked but thrilled. The red tip was just dirty. NO RUST! Minimal paint missing from tip. So I stopped what I was doing an got it soaking in some hot soapy water. The date code is D4. I believe that puts it around 58??? Let me know if I am wrong. I would like to know. The brush is rough an stinky. Thinking it is going to be my first brush restore. Looking to replace the knot. Here are some before an afters of the red tip. Cant wait to give her a go.

That red tip is cleaned up beautifully.

Once you restore that brush it will make a great pair. Sometimes you do find hidden treasures.

    Congratulations!

LOL no man I was so shocked when she brought that out! I still cant believe the condition. Best part is I was bidding on one last week. Lost at last minute. Guess it was meant to be. Thanks for the verification on date code too. Guess since I lost the auction I will go spend that money at SRD

I removed the knot from the brush tonight at the shop. YUCK! That was some nasty smelling stuff. I tried to use the vice trick with no luck. So I cut the hairs an drilled them dremel to clean up. Shopping for knots now. Will post a finished pic when I get it finished.

That's a nice find. Those red tips are popular because they are more aggressive than the other non-adjustable Gillette razors.

I know what you mean about the glue smell of the brush. You heat the old glue when trying to get it out. When you get a new knot in there and break it in you won't have a smell problem.
