    Holy cow!

I didn't pay attention to the dimensions when I first saw a post about this razor, and assumed that was normal sized! Amazing!

When you are dead, you don't know that you are dead. It's difficult only for the others.
It's the same when you are stupid.

Man the time I'm sure it took to carve that and attention to detail...insane.

Amazing - the shot with your hand for scale is jolting.
You realize that the size of the razor is the size of the tusk.

    Absolutely wondrous!

    That's fine art, that is.

Do you have any idea which building it was displayed in at the exposition? I've got a copy of the souvenir photo book with high-quality pictures of all the architecture.

I'll ask further details to Henckels & Co, but I don't know if themselves knows.

The chances are pretty good they do know.

It was probably the Manufacturer's And Liberal Arts Building, but it might also have been in the building dedicated to Germany.

The Manufacturer's And Liberal Arts Building was almost unimaginably huge, and by design wasn't made to last.

But did you tap it on your teeth? Looks like faux ivory to me. Better let me take it to my lab to run a few tests

    Nice try !

No, it's true ivory. Must have been an amazingly big defense.

There is few pictures on my third post showing close look on the scales, where you can see it's true ivory. (There is also a file, the second link, where you can unzip the high res. pictures)

I've been collecting ivory scaled razors for quite a time now, and I manage pretty well to recognize ivory and tortoise And Henckels itself identify it as massive ivory.

I asked J.A. Henckels about the precise localization of the razor during the exhibition. I also asked them (it would be too beautiful to be true) if by any chance they would have a picture of the razor during the show.

A lot of factory records were lost due to bombing in WWII so Henckels may not have complete documentation.
