1700s warburton lisbon stubtail
I picked this beauty up today in an antique store in historic Chester, Vermont. all signs point to late 1700s. blade is wedge shaped front on, side view and tapers from tip to ultra thin tail, cutting edge and tang flow as one. scales look like someone refinished them at some point, shiny copper pins and smooth sanded wood. straight shape but likely replacements. awesome piece to see and hold, im just stoked to have found it in the wild! Lisbon stamp places it as made by Thomas warburton? or perhaps William as this doesn't have thomas' star in the logo?
