Joseph Brammer is listed as cutler in the 1822 History, Directory and Gazeteer of the County of York, at Pye Bank. From then the details are a bit fuzzy, but at some point he took up residence in Des Moines and became a mixed martial arts fighter, known as the "Southside Strangler".
