Thanked: 480As promised, pictures now that the prize is in my hands!
First the cool old box it all came in...
My guess is depression era, or shortly after? In excellent shape really.
Next are the 2 razors. The blade in the Wade and Butcher box has obviously been worked on. Its been shortened, and polished (there is traces of buffing compound still on the blade) Remaining discoloration might be an overheated blade, or it could be just patina. I will know when I go to hone it up. The other blade is a nice Elliots. I had thought from the pictures in the auction that the blade was junk, but its actually in very nice shape, and should hone right up with no issues.
And last and mostly, the sharpening stone. Everybody's favorite, the Escher!
Measuring in as advertised at a full 8 1/4x 1 3/4 and close to a full 7/8 thick, the majority of the label still intact, and just enough end label to make out Blu ( I suspect there was a Dark before it) Here is a wet/slurry/dry shot What do you think? Dark Blue, or just blue?
and if anybody has a clue, I am super curious about the box the stone was stored in. one end of the box has been chamfered on both top and bottom, and there is a neatly incised square area that terminates perfectly with the edge of the chamfers. I thought perhaps a recess for a hinge, but with the two locator dowel pins, I;m not so sure. What do you guys think?

Nice haul
What a curse be a dull razor; what a prideful comfort a sharp one

Thanked: 480Stimpy SHUSH! If the town board thinks there are valuable rocks in the area, out taxes will get even MORE out of control (hard though that might be to imagine!)
