Thread: Gillette and Joseph Rodgers

went down to fort langley today to see what could be found in the various antique shops there. had a decent selection of safety razors, lots of single edge razors and ball end techs. had two shorty adjustables, so i picked one up for my boy as a graduation present that i'll fix up for him.
also they had a few straights, nothing that really jumped out at me, i dont really buy up every razor i see. but i did like this joseph rodgers that they had there, i havent seen this particular razor on here before, but i'm sure someone has. maybe one of you can tell me how good of a shaver it is.

Joseph Rogers only made real good razors AFAIK. Once that baby is honed it should be a first rate shaver. Just don't hone it with 'reckless abandon' unless you know your way around a hone send it out.

utopian taught me how to hone, but i do not have my own hones yet, so this time i will have to send it out.
the good news is i can polish it up myself. i'm pleased that the scales are in such good shape, so i can keep them.
