Not meaning to be critical but... You spent all that money on hones AND you don't know how to hone yet?

No, I used my parents car. However when it came time for me to learn to hone I asked my mother if she had a norton 4k/8k. She didn't know what I was talking about so I had to buy my own.

More are on the away and i“m not going to spend a lot of money in shipping and honing services. Here in Portugal, not many of us use straight razors and in the Portuguese forum Barbear Clįssico i“m trying to make it change. One the purposes of this forum in particular seemed to me from since i registered, is to help as many people as possible to get the skills and hone their razors and to help others do the same.

The two bottom left razors were bought by my father, the black one is a Gebr. Weyersberg 5/8" he gave it to me and was the first razor i shaved with. The white one is a Dovo Razor Electric 6000 5/8" and it was his razor, i will be very proud and so would he when i got them shave ready again.

In Portugal you can only start lesson for your drivers license after you are 18 years hold. And you must do it in a school with a teacher in a car owned by them. You can not do it in you family car like in the states.

I was not trying to dissuade you from honing your own razors or anyone else's for that matter but you could achieve a very good shave ready edge with just two stones. IMHO that you went just a little bit overboard but that's just me.
