Default Wilkinson Sword SE 7 Day Set

    Hi everyone
I recently acquired this nice set off eBay & it has everything except for the instructions. I took one of the blades out of its holder & looked at it through an eye loupe but can't see any signs of honing. I was just wondering about honing. Is it necessary to have a piece of tape over the spine or is that only if it has spine wear. Myself, since it shows no signs of previous honing I was thinking no tape is needed to hone it. BTW, it is the older setup. I love it, I think it is a very cool set. Wish I could find a Wilkinson Sword straight!

Those are really cool sets. Congrats on finding yours.

Have you tried searching previous threads about the Wilkinson Sword sets? I remember another set being written about recently, and I believe they honed and used a blade. Anyway, nice set and good luck.

    This may help some.
If you don't have the strop you could probably make one.

And this is the thread - more info.

I did get a strop with it so the only thing missing was the instructions.

    Default Rolls Razor

Well I did go with a friend to some antique shops in hopes of finding some straight razors. We saw two but they weren't important enough to buy. One had a bad frown on it. I did however run across this Rolls Razor that i got a decent deal for $35. I think that was good in the box & complete with two different sets of instructions.
It was also fun to get out for awhile.

Hone her up on a regular set of hones and have at her. They are really good shavers if they have a proper edge put on. Check the hone that came with it for cracks which seems to be a weak point with Rolls Razors.
