Thanked: 7why did i win this?
I hate being the only bidder on an item. It makes me think I bought something either very bad or overpriced. After I bid on it, I think the edge isn't straight. The toe looks bigger than the heel. Optical illusion? I should receive in 2-3 weeks so I can measure then. 7/8 in horn.
edit: To include the price. USD 60. Yes, even at that price 60 can be too much for a 7/8 if it turns out to be bad.

The toe being bigger than the heel is not a problem and is common on that style of the razor.
That style was fairly common around 1830-1950 I think, especially if you take a look at old Bengalls that were made in that time frame.Last edited by Baxxer; 07-29-2014 at 09:02 AM.

If you mean that the blade is wider at the toe than the heel it could be. Many razors were made like that. It looks to be in really good condition. Nice grab.

Wicked nice buy -- sometimes razors just get missed, and you get a great buy. Sometimes a dozen people are churning up the waters around razors I wouldn't touch. Don't keep us in suspense, how much?

I think you should count yourself lucky. The razor looks great to me, I can see no flaws, even the scales appear to be in exellent condition. Have it properly honed and enjoy, I am sure you will like it.

I was watching that one. Glad it worked out for you. Something about the seller or where he was kept me from bidding.
