Default Antique French Pocket Knife - 1820

Seeing some fascinating antique knives on this forum (Thaeris!), I saw this last week, and it really attracted my attention. Aside from it's interesting stamp, it also had a nice aesthetic to it. Finally, it shouldn't present any problems with coming into the country.

So here is this Antique French Pocket Knife, from 1820, with a very interesting stamp of an eye on the blade.

Don't worry Bob, just needed something to fill the hole

Valery's got the 4 beautiful W&B's, a stunning 7/8 Greaves, and a few French framebacks in the works for me....with all the dirt and grunge, sorry, patina, polished up and shinier than a diamond in a goats...well you know!

Besides, I don't take responsibility for the knife...I blame Thaeris, and that works for me....

Strange, I thought you'd have gone with something that had LOT wider blade.

That is a nice looking old knife.

Now get your exploring gear, sharpen up your googlefu, and go hunting to see who the maker was.

We anxiously await your results.. And hopefully while you're tying up hours and hours looking to match that mark, some of the rest of us can snag a big, fat razor for cheap.

Well - haven't found any information on that Egyptian eye mark on the knife, but I found a large W&B or two, one huge 8/8 + Celebrated Hollow Ground with stainless steel scales, one day listing only, but alas, neither are cheap by any means....
