Very Unique Wade & Butcher
I got this Wade & Butcher awhile back & I came across it so I thought I would show it. It has a very unique grind to it. It looks like it says "something Edge Concave Razor". Any information on this razor is greatly appreciated!

Very unusual, never seen one like that.
I have a, "Celebrated Ango-Saxon Concave Razor", but it doesn't look even remotely like that...interesting the way the blade slants in. Thanks, fascinating razor!

It originally said: "Wade & Butcher's Celebrated Feather Edge Concave Razor". Looks like the hone wear has worn away the top line of text and a portion of the bottom.
A couple of different manufacturers made models with similarly shaped tangs. I think they were from the early 1840's.-Zak Jarvis. Writer. Artist. Bon vivant.

Mine is slightly different than yours but you have a very nice one there. The barber's notch on mine is larger & the wording is slightly different but other than that they are similar. I don't think anythings been changed on mine. A big thanks goes out to Voidmonster for the correct wording on mine also. He's on top of it!

Usually being the important part of the statement. When I'm wrong, I've usually put that flag all the way to the top of the pole!
Here's an example of a very similar tang (though with its own special somethin').-Zak Jarvis. Writer. Artist. Bon vivant.

For the record, I never disputed what you allowed was originally on the spine!
I was simply trying to demonstrate to the OP that the razor is far from it's original state. Not in any state of usefulness anymore, IMO. As he seemed offended by this, I chose to bow out of the discussion. I cannot see where anything other than the unusual tang is worth discussing.
Curious...What's with the vote on the thread?

I rest my case.
