    Default A Great Greaves!

Found this nice Greaves last night for a great BIN, 7/8 with a thumb notch...can't resist a Greaves, and can't resist a thumb notch.

Looking forward to restoring this one and bringing it back to life.

The seller sent me a message after I purchased it, was his grandfather's, told him I was going to restore it and would send him pics if he liked. Seller was a super nice guy, a real gentleman.

Yes, would like to find out some more about dating this one...with the stumpy tang, am assuming it will be early 1800's...love the shape of this blade.

I saw that Phrank & almost bought it. It was $100 BIN. I waited & took my chances on a Wm Greaves & Sons & won it for $53.99, just pennies more than the bidder below me. Check it out, eBay item #311054821551. It has a spot I'll have to remove from the blade but so what. It has a great smile to it!

Great deal on the one you got, just amazes me, a gorgeous vintage Greaves like that, doubt I'll ever buy a new production blade again...congrats!

Did you happen to look at the bids on the one I got Phrank? I think I won it by $0.44 or something like that.
