That toe is a bit like a lancet toe, though obviously lancets have a different grind
Bread and water can so easily become tea and toast

Interesting design. I've seen it on razors that were designed for Hair Shaping but not for shaving.

Obviously the OP's picture is not for the purpose of fighting but I have seen some on some knife forums that were modified for making a straight into a slicing weapon by welding a ring on the tail so you could grip it more positively. The difference between these blades and the one pictured is the rings were welded on the opposite side so that when fully opened your index finger would be the one in the ring. There was actually a bunch that were confiscated during a raid of a mexican drug cartel.

I really like the point on that razor! I've heard multiple explanations for the common barber's notch in the ends of so many Sheffield razors and one is that it allowed barbers to open the razor with one hand. I don't understand how a barber's notch would help do that but I think yours very well could be for that purpose. It looks like it would be easy to catch that end on the edge of a counter and flip the blade open.

That was my first thought - that a barber who used it for hair cutting would find it much easier to hold on to the razor and would not need to take his finger out - so to speak.

There are very similar modern (Feather) hair shapers but without the scales.
My service is good, fast and cheap. Select any two and discount the third.
