    Excellent post
    I have a similar str8 not sure in the brand with a crack in the tang the same now know 2 things, both how to get it apart and to fix it
    Not sure about the untrasound cleaner s
    Nothing that specky here

    OK, now that the experts have said it, crazy glue is what I have used on a similar crack in Ivory. Enjoy the heck out of that puppy.

    The ultrasonic will get some of the buildup out of the cracks, most if you're lucky.

    You can then press the cracks closed and touch thin CA glue to them. Capillary action will wick that glue right down into the crack and seal it. You'll need a vise or an extra set of hands you don't mind getting glue on.
    +1... That's what I would do as well...except that I don't have an ultrasonic cleaner, so I would just give it to Zak to do for me!

    I know it sounds crazy but when I get CA on my hands I sand it off! It works better than anything else. Now that I have my Macbook back I can see the grain.

    Yup. By far the easiest way.

    Especially with a belt sander.
