    Default Vintage Merkur

Here is a vintage Merkur I got on the bay really cheap. Notice this one is gold in color or brass rather than the newer silver ones.

That's nice. I'm thinking it is gold plate rather than unplated brass. If it is the latter they cleaned it up super well. If the adjustment knob operates as intended that is a heck of a nice shaver, from what I hear, never had one myself. I know guys go after them, particularly the vintage ones. If it is gold plate Windex is the best thing to shine 'em up. Won't hurt the plating.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

The knob is in perfect working order. It unscrews & the razor comes apart, I then very gently screw it back together it seems to screw back together normally back together w/o any problems. I Iet it go back together with ease & I plan on giving it a test drive later on today, when I come back from a doctos appt. I can't wait to try it out. I will give a later update. Gotta go!

I have one and yes, it's a very nice shaver!! I don't know if you notice this but, make sure when you put the razor back together that the triangle and notch on the head are on the same side. Just like in the second photo.

    Cool
Thanks for the heads up. It's lined up right!
