Geneva Cutlery Round Point
Just got this guy in a lot off eBay. This was the one I was most excited about, just cleaned it up with some turtle wax rubbing compound.
Anyone know now off hand when this would have been manufactured? I am thinking 1960s?Last edited by JoelLewicki; 10-19-2014 at 07:26 PM. Reason: Added a before photo from the bay

Honestly, the picture is not doing it justice, the markings on the shank are really great:

Thanked: 43That is a superb looking Geneva. It looks like new.
I am presently shaving with a Genco that has considerable wear and some pitting, but it shaves as well as any other razor in my colection.
Its smooth too, to the point that it doesn't feel extremely sharp and I am aware that I will have to keep my confidence in check.
Good ole American steel!!

Thanked: 40According to this 2009 SRD post,
http://straightrazorpalace.com/razor...va-razors.html
your razor may have been manufactured between 1902 and 1935.
By the way, I'm impressed with what you accomplished with a little turtle wax.

Thank you for the link! Upon closer reading of the information on that thread, in 1928 they began being known as "Geneva Cutlery Inc." (mine is "Inc.") rather than "Co.," which it previously had been known as. Then in 1935 they sold out and their name was changed. Therefore my razor was most likely produced in that relatively short window between 1928-1935. Earlier than I thought -- but I was thinking that because of its great condition!
Thanks again for that helpful link Bordee!State v. Durham, 323 N.W. 2d 243, 245 (Iowa 1982) (holding that a straight razor is per se a "dangerous weapon").
