    Default Pennsylvania Knife Co. razor

I was not able to find much background on this razor here on the forums. Anyone able to enlighten me that would be swell. I can also add it to the database since I do not see it anywhere?

Tidioute was a big cutlery hub . Some history on the town might yield more about Pennsylvania Knife Co. (Not Philadelphia!)
    Lovely razor!

Crap that was my mistake.. I was staring right at it too!! Thanks for the heads up on that, corrected it.

I read up on that link you posted earlier, lots of history in that town for sure. I have not been able to find anything more specific on the company which stinks but I will keep looking.

A great piece of American razor history there. Treat it kindly!

From what I can tell, that company was small and short lived. Pretty scarce tang stamp.

I'd suggest a message to the author of the article Tom linked to and David would probably be glad to share what he knows.

Thank you for the information. Time to join another forum! LOL I'll be sure to post back if I find anything else out about it. I am trying to get a lighbox set up so I can take better pictures of it as well in the event we can add it to the database being it is not in there.

If you don't know what a hardware house truly was, I suggest you read up on them as they played a significant role in the advancement of knives in our country and few understand what they really did.

Most of their knives and razors were made in Germany, from the late 1800's into the 1900's. The first Tidioute Cutlery Company made both for them but one needs to remember that either or MUST be stamped TIDIOUTE on the tang to establish that. The second Tidioute cutlery company did some for them too.

    Hope this helps
