Thanked: 884Rusty Johnson.
G Johnson
SHEFFIELD
Has the VR over the name and the seven stars on the blade. No hammer...
Almost 7/8. I think this one will clean up and run too. Stained heavily from the rust it has been allowed to accumulate. No bug bites in the scales.

Think about it hard, Wullie. I know. You are a shiny object man. Looks pretty cool as-is with hand-polish and such.
Don't be going overboard!

Thanked: 884I like shiny IF it's original. Nothing prettier than original crocus finish.
Most of my oldies have the warts and stains they earned. Mr Johnson and Mr Putley will get the rust removed and get a very mild clean up.
Probably do the same with that old Evatt. It's got some deep pits in it. It may or may not make a razor as much rust as it has near the edge.Member Tonkin Gulf Yacht Club, participant SE Asia War Games 1972-1973. The oath I swore has no statute of limitation.

Well good luck with your Putley -Johnson! Hard work to preserve some of these oldies, just do it! You can!

Thanked: 3224Hey Wullie, that is a nice rusty Yawnson, as they say in Minnesota, you have there. Hope they all take a good edge for you. I think I am going have to start buying razors by the pound too.

Thanked: 884Thanks to the "extra hour" we got last night, I was up at 0530..Made a pot of coffee rolled a smoke and got busy with Meester Yawn-son. Cleaned him up a bit more, shined him with Mothers and took him to the stones. Put one layer of tape on him and went to town. Had 4 other razors in the mix I was honing as well. Finally got 'em all where I wanted them at 1430. Had brunch in there around 1100 as the wife had no difficulty sleeping in.
Took that long bladed thing for a spin a while ago. The blade's cutting edge is 3 1/4" long!
IT'S A RAZOR AGAIN!!!
Got a bit of shine amongst the "neighborhood" it's collected over the years.
