Default Rodgers star & cross razor

I recently aquired this and wanted to show. Maybe someone can tell me a little more about this blade. NOTE: I do not want this valued by any means. Just sharing, and maybe someone can provide some more details of it.
What I know: Rodgers Star & Cross razor, No 1. Looks like some of the white strip on the side is missing (pic attached). It's in the original box that it was given to someone in. On one side of the box, it says with compliments of The Neptune Oil Co Ltd, Sydney. This company started in 1909, and was sold in 1925 to the Lever Brothers. Someone has written a name on the box ( C. Miller), I don't know who this is. Other than what I can see, I know nothing of the blade itself, which is really what I'm hoping to find something of. The blade has been inscribed on one side 'use Warratah Motor Spirit' .

Welcome to SRP. Interesting razor in that I've never before seen that "Use Motor Spirit" etching on any razor. The box is new to me too. Usually seen in a black colored box, early examples all black with pressed lettering, later black with white lettering pasted on IIRC. We have a specific forum called "Down Under" where you'll find members who may be in close proximity. If you are intending to shave with that lovely thing perhaps one of them could assist in getting it shave ready, giving some tips on stropping, shaving.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Just yesterday I honed up a Joseph Rodgers & Sons razor that I found... probably close in age as well. I shaved with it this morning, and I'm very tempted to say that it was the smoothest shave I've had since I started a couple years ago when compared to the other 9 razors I have. If you get that honed up, I'm confident it will give you an amazing, comfortable shave. Nice find!

Joseph Rodgers and Sons....Perfection !!.....I love 'em.
That blade has a unique Australian connection that appeals to me.
I'm sure you've already googled Waratah Motor Spirit and Neptune Oil Company in Sydney.
I have a feeling someone more knowledgeable than I will be along to "give you the good oil" on this blade.

As much as I would LOVE to clean this up and use it, I don't think I would trust myself with it on my legs or underarms . My man wouldn't use either. Yes, it does have a unique Australian connection which is what intrigues me.
