Default Civil War Razor w/ Union Company Marking N&R Dodge

I had won this razor from eBay sometime ago and recently found it in a box.

It is a N&R Dodge, and allegedly belonged to a member of the American Union Army during the Civil War, with a Union Company's designation marking burned into the scales.

I know it's a long shot, but anyone have any ideas about this razor?

That one will be very hard to nail down Phrank. But then again it could be as simple as the 14th.Battery of the 1st. Connecticut Heavy Artillery. Which did serve during the Civil War as part of the Army of the Potomac. I do not know much about the razor other than the fact that it is probably a Sheffield blade. Nice find by the way.

    Nice razor.
I want to think that N.R. Dodge was out of Sheffield from 1850 to 1860. So the time frame is right (if my memory is correct).
Hopefully someone that knows for certain will chime in soon.

No more information other than it will cleanup into a good shaver. An old Dodge of mine with that logo did!
Congratulations. No Broad arrow so it is a US not British army.
    A good purchase!

I have a Dodge blade here somewhere. I just saw it last night & now i can't find it. I'm about 99.9% they are Sheffield's. It drives me crazy when I can't find something. I have so damn many razors & blades that they all get mixed together sometimes.

Yup, they're Sheffields....on the tang stamp.

This one is a good sized blade, smaller heel going to a bigger toe...I'd definitely say it's a 7/8...gave the blade a quick clean...scales are intact, but just very, very dry.
