This Torrey Just Arrived at My Mailbox..................
This Torrey Just Arrived at My Mailbox & I love it because it is different! It has a slight amount of toe wear but it is a wedge so that's good that it isn't a hollow ground. I was so excited, I forgot to show the Torrey box that came with it. It says "Old English" on the blade.

That is a good razor a bit well used but that is its purpose. A wedge with the weight removed. Any of my five with different tang and makers' stamps are great and comfortable shavers despite their narrow blade.
Have fun!

Thank you Richard.
I know those are out there but I never saw a Torrey like that. It's the piece of history that it holds! If it could talk, it could tell us quite a few stories. Some of all the razors we all own.............we don't know of the many famous people they could have shaved or the many famous people that may have had them in their hands at one time or another. That remains a mystery. I just wish there was some way of knowing except for ones out there that might be documented.

Thanked: 4826I have seen a few of the bigger sheffield brands with that blade style but I don't think I've seen that on a blade that wasn't a sheffield. It goes to show the learning just keeps going.

I have the same one but with Black plastic scales. It is a great shaver, light and nimble and shaves like a wedge. It is one of my favourite razors and not one I would part with.

Richard, it didn't look that bad in the eBay pic but at least I didn't pay a lot for it. I love yours...................I'm jealous!
Maybe I'll find another one one day with the plain scales & a better blade & do a swap!
Here is a larger Sheffield One from Thomas Turner & Company LTD, Sufolk Works.
I have another larger Sheffield one but can't find it now. I want to think it was a Sheffield.Last edited by engine46; 12-14-2014 at 11:22 AM.
