Default Mail Call Two winners from Ebay

I seem to be gravitating towards Genco's at the moment. As a newbie, Genco's seem to be fairly plentiful, and finding nice one's doesn't take too too much effort. Here are two I picked up on ebay. My first ebay purchase turned out to be a loss, with lots of pitting at the edge and bevel. These two are in near pristine condition. Very little blemishing, and virtually no hone wear that I can see. And decent looking scales.

    Default Genco Honor

Nice razors buddy, you'll be happy. Here's a pic of my Genco Honor. It gives a very comfortable shave.

Awesome information! I can see a collection forming in my future . Do you know anyone who has at least one of each of these?

Beautiful condition! Did you restore these, or did you get it like this. How do I go about getting out the light blemishes from these. I was using FeOx paste on an cloth and buffing them out by hand, but that approach is taking too long I think.

You can do it with a Dremel & Maas polish only if you have experience using a Dremel on a blade. If you don't, then do not try it or you will mess it up.
I don't recommend using a Dremel if you have no experience using one, especially on a blade! You can see here how I cleaned up a razor:

I shaved with the Seneca Chief this morning after doing a pyramid honing on 4k / 8K followed by CrOx strop then FeOx strop the night before. It's difficult for me to tell if my first impression of this Seneca Chief Genco is so high because of my inexperience starting out with my Dovo. But the shave this morning was impressive. One thing I noticed about this razor, aside from the amazing shave, is the sound of it passing through facial hair. It has a rich almost thick sound. The Dovo has a much thinner, higher pitch sound. It makes me wonder if the metal of this razor is more dense than in the Dovo (any insight on this from the community?). Anyway it was a thoroughly enjoyable shave. Extremely close and comfortable with no irritation. Tomorrow it's the Old Dutch, but not expecting too much difference between these two. Very pleased at this purchase.

Both of these are half hollow I think. It appears to be the same grind as the Dovo Best Quality which is also half hollow. Still too newbish to give a definitive answer on that, but I'm pretty sure.

Using a 20X loupe, I noticed that the bevel of the Old Dutch was completely scraped down about a centimeter up from the toe, for about a centimeter up the blade. Took a while with the 1K stone to get a decent bevel along the entire blade. Then the pyramid on 4K / 8K stone followed by the CrO2 then FeO2 paste strop, just like I did on the Seneca Chief razor. The shave this morning with this was excellent! Same extremely close no irritation shave like the Seneca Chief. Getting some good honing practice and some nice successes. Very cool!
